Self-Care Art Print

Self-care is poetry.

This illustration is based on my imaginary relationship with Russian poet, Anna Akhmatova. She is a character in my cosmics, and plays the role of grounded realist holding my character down. Inspired in part by some of the struggles she endured during her life, and my understanding of how poetry, and preserving the legacies of herself and her contemporaries became the driving force for her survival under Stalinism, I created this piece to speak to the idea of self-care being both internal and external. And above all: essential to our survival. Hang this print wherever it will do you good, to remind yourself and anyone else who might encounter it to take the time to feed your bodies and souls.
